Parker School is dedicated to providing a high quality language learning experience that is sequential and differentiated. The Spanish Department offers a K-12 program with a Spanish 5/AP option. Students master the 4 fundamental linguistic skills – understanding, speaking, reading and writing and develop an understanding and an appreciation of the culture and linguistic heritage of Spanish speaking peoples.
Students entering the Spanish program in the Lower School are introduced to Spanish in a meaningful, safe and interactive environment. Classes are centered around fun-filled activities, authentic music, literature and games. The classroom is an exciting place where students are given the opportunity to learn a love of language and cultural diversity
Middle and upper school students are offered differentiated levels of Spanish based on their experiences and abilities. Honors options are available in Spanish I-V. Curriculum is based on the Foreign Language National Standards: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons and Communities.
